Student Office which runs on Windows 95, Windows NT and Macintosh operating systems to fill the organizational void that students currently have.
Program Highlights:
The Global CD Student Office is a complete student resource package on one CD-ROM. It is packaged through the run-time version of the FileMaker Pro Database solution which allows you to navigate through the databases and work within them. Great detail has been given to the databases to allow the user the most flexibility in text entry and interaction between forms and databases.
Word Processing: Throughout all the databases, Filemaker Pro utilizes basic word processing technology which allows you to Spell Check, Arrange Fonts, Sizes and Styles of text.
Automatically Files Your Work: Starting from the Main Menu, you can navigate to any one of a number of databases. Each time you add a "record" or new page, it is sequentially placed at the top of the file. If you need to find a letter or fax, simply enter in the name of the person you are looking for and the database will automatically find your work.
Organize Your Thoughts: Using the Bibliography and Notes database, you can enter in literature notes or card catalog information and automatically print out a BIBLIOGRAPHY or NOTES section of your report.
Letter Writing and Faxing: Keeping track of your friends and associates is easy.
Just enter in their information in the Contacts database. Addressing a letter or fax is automatic-- just type in the persons name and the rest of the information is entered by the database.
Student Office was developed using the FileMaker Pro database platform and is a series of databases which allow the computer user to organize names, addresses, phone numbers and notes while automatically generating faxes, letters and student reports. The software we provide includes a run-time version of FileMaker Pro (which we are licensed under Claris to distribute with our solution). This platform includes built-in word processing, database, phone dialing, printing, sorting, finding and editing features. It is a comprehensive set of interactive databases which intuitively reflects upon the users demands.
Student Office allows the computer user to take advantage of the "point-and-click" interface on all computers to efficiently take control and organize contacts while automatically pasting information into a fax, letterhead or email document. For students, there is a section which will allow them to generate note cards, lists, bibliography, outlines and report drafts. A Do-List can be used to schedule events and important reminders. The entire database is brought together by a centralized Menu which utilizes buttons to navigate with ease between the various areas.
The solution is so complete that it includes a on-line help system, abbreviation list, and bibliographical style database (MLA and APA) so students have a real-time reference base for report writing.
